All Y

A quick Ysabela update. Guitar seems to have entered a new level, with Ysabela writing her own songs. On Valentine's Day, JXY got to go see our favorite kid's author Laurie Keller (check out http://lauriekeller.com/) in Montague, while Karen was stuffing First Priority gift bags/doing a bible study. Ms. keller taught us how to make her style valentines.

Ysabela has made the world's largest diorama, with Hogwart's castle eclipsing her previous record Fairyville, in honor of finishing our family read of Order of the Phoenix and first watching of the movie. Finally, the first willing shot of Ysabela showing off her new dental hardware. Not sure you can make out the purple rubber bands from this shot, but they're cool.

January Catsup

What's up? Still winter - we continue a long streak under freezing. Kids (with K's help) have established a luge track around the condos' power supply... hmmm. Ysabela had her double-digit birthday, was in a short play at school as an native american lawyer,
and ran a trading post selling math games. (Made about $15 profit - having a business-mnded mother helped a lot.)

Xavi has started Tae Kwan Do and has made an amazing start. Ysabela has started braces by having four teeth out... watch for the Bloody Tooth in this space if we get a chance to finish it.

Work is set to begin on the house soon, which might mean we're back in the house by the end of February... be weird to be back across the bridge.

Herofunnies

Mason Mitchell was over for some experimental movie making. Action figures act out a conflict between IronMonger, Iron Man, Hulk and the Silver Surfer. If you're interested, give it a try. But you might need some anti-motion sickness medicine to handle the camera work. The last two minutes are the bloopers/gag reel, which is really the best part. (In the editor's opinion.)

Happy New Year!

Well, we're back at school, got our final quote on the mold remediation and trying to get back at it. Christmas was restful, and then we got in a grandparent week, too. Ysabela was excited about a heap of new cat figures and a swarm of fairies, for which she built quite an extended fairyville. Really a complete village. Xavier got a few action figures (enough to build a complete blob) but there was also a strong Batman theme, and he built most of the Batman legos completely solo. (That'll teach Dad to nap on Christmas.) If you didn't get an e-Christmas letter, be sure to email us and we'll get it right out.
Peace and blessings.

Coming soon: the Hotseat with Brandon Greeno, guest star.

Fall 08 is done!

Grades are in, John is happy and Karen is waiting for evidence that next semester will be better. Meanwhile the condo is decorated, some cookies have been made (and eaten), there are signs of hope that the mold will get remediated, the Cottage has been sold, and Christmas is coming.

Bela has a few pics of the decorations - focusing on her room, which has upwards of 7 trees. She did get a pic of Xavi's Star Wars tree with bonus Batmobile. She also has two movies in the works, an improv Rudolf and a scripted Warriors epic for which she wrote the screenplay adaptation. World premiere here on the blog, if space allows. Otherwise might be a straight-to-DVD feature.

Of course, we'd be remiss in this season if we didn't warn you to
WATCH OUT FOR BUMBLE!

December Already?

Ysabela clearly has the spirit. She would like to warn you that the views in the interview do not reflect that of the publishing company and the video extras are unrated (because of a scene of donkey vs. camel.)

Both kids did cool Extra-Extras, and you should feel free to quiz X on Chicago and Y on the Grimms.

Above is the view out on Spring Lake in a rare moment of Novemeber sunshne. At right is our very Thanksgivingy show of Bolt 3D.

More news on the house this week, please pray for good news!
